N-[3-(Triethoxysilyl)propyl]formamide - Introduction
N-[3-(Triethoxysilyl)propyl]formamide (TESPF for short) is an organosilicon compound with the following properties:
1. Appearance and properties: TESPF is often colorless to light yellow liquid.
2. Solubility: TESPF can be dissolved in organic solvents, such as alcohols, ethers and alkanes.
The main uses of TESPF are:
1. As a silicon-based fixing agent: TESPF can react with inorganic substrates to form chemical bonds, so that organic and inorganic materials are closely combined. Therefore, TESPF is commonly used in the industry as a silicon-based surface treatment agent and a fixing agent for certain composite materials.
2. As a solvent and medium: TESPF can be used as an organic solvent in chemical synthesis and surface modification process plays an important role. It can also be used as a vehicle for coatings, adhesives and dyes.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of TESPF can be completed by a three-step reaction:
1. 3-aminopropionic acid reacts with triethoxysilane to generate N-[3-(triethoxysilyl) propyl] glycine amide.
2. Reaction of N-[3-(triethoxysilyl) propyl] glycine with formaldehyde yields N-[3-(triethoxysilyl) propyl] Formamide (I. E. TESPF).
3. Purification and extraction of TESPF.
Safety Information:
1. TESPF is a colorless to light yellow liquid, work need to wear appropriate protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles and laboratory coats.
2. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, avoid breathing gas or steam.
3. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical help.
4. During use, please follow the relevant safety operation procedures to ensure good ventilation.
5. TESPF should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from fire or oxidant, avoid contact with strong acid, alkali and other substances.
Please note that the above information is a general description. For specific experimental operations and safety instructions, please refer to the safety technical specifications of the relevant chemical or consult a professional for advice.
